A six-day brainstorming workshop on Science has been started today by the collaboration of Uttarakhand Science #Education and Research Centre( #USERC)and Dolphin (PG) Institute (#DIBNS) at Dolphin Institute, Dehradun.
We are joined by 57 students in 12th Grade from various government schools in Uttarakhand. This workshop managed to fetch students from the very interiors of #uttarakhand, which was the entire aim and exercise of this event.
The number of girls seems on the higher side which is encouraging and shows their enthusiasm for science.
The workshop has been kick started with the welcome note and the overview of the Vigyan setu Workshop by Prof. Shailja Pant, principal DIBNS.
Prof. Jagmohan Singh Rana, a renowned Physicist, and educational thinker also honourable member of the Uttarakhand public service commission Uttarakhand,
inaugurated the workshop and gave best wishes. He stressed and traced the roots of science in Ancient times. In addition to this, he talked about how we can draw ideas from ancient achievements in the field of science and blend them with Modern science.
The aim of the workshop is to light the spark of scientific curiosity among the children who have come all the way from different nooks and crannies of Uttarakhand.
The idea of the workshop is to give hands-on- experimentation to the participants. The workshop module has been designed to offer experiential learning to the students.
Also, we have tried to keep the workshop relatable so that the students get an instant connection with the program.
Besides this, as a part of the exposure visit, students will be performing experiments in well-equipped laboratories.
All the practicals are largely in accordance with their NCERT science textbooks which would eventually be helping them in their upcoming performance in the board exams.
Dolphin Institute extends a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Anita Rawat( Director, USERC) for her constant support. It would have not materialized without her support. We are also thankful to our management team, and each and every person from the academic and admin domain.
