First Aid & Basic Life Support Add-on Course at Dolphin PG Institute

Course Description:

A 5-day add-on course on First Aid & Basic Life Support (BLS) was organized by the Department of Physiotherapy at DIBNS, Dehradun. The course aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle emergencies effectively. Course Structure:
  • Theory Sessions:
    • Introduction to First Aid and BLS
    • Anatomy of the Cardiopulmonary System
    • Handling and Transporting Patients in Emergencies
    • Components of a First-Aid Kit
    • Emergency Numbers and Coding
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) or Manual Defibrillator
    • First Aid for Various Emergency Conditions
  • Practical Sessions (Days 4 & 5):
    • Focused on the implementation and application of First Aid and BLS techniques in emergency scenarios.
    • Hands-on training on first-aid tools for:
      • Injury prevention
      • Transporting injured patients
      • CPR
      • Bandaging techniques
