Introduction
In pursuance of its Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment and accreditation and quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education, NAAC proposes that every accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of the institution’s system and work towards realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. To develop a system of conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institute post accreditation period, IQAC shall channelize all efforts and measures of the institute towards promoting its holistic academic excellence. IQAC was established in Dolphin (PG) Institute on 09/05/2011 post first cycle of accreditation. Since its inception, IQAC has been committed to develop and maintain quality culture in the institute. With the conferment of Autonomous status from the academic session 2024-25, the responsibility and role of IQAC becomes more crucial. The right balance between the health and growth of an institution, keeping in view the newly acquired autonomous status, needs to be maintained. The IQAC has to ensure that whatever is done in the institution for “education” is done efficiently and effectively with high standards.

Mission
- To arrange for periodic assessment and accreditation of institutions of higher education or units thereof, or specific academic programmes or projects
- To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality of teaching-learning and research in higher education institutions;
- To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations in higher education;
- To undertake quality-related research studies, consultancy and training programmes, and
- To collaborate with other stakeholders of higher education for quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance.

Functions
- Development and application of quality benchmarks;
- Setting parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty development to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
- Collection and analysis of feedback from all the stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
- Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all the stakeholders;
- Organization of intra- and inter-institutional workshops and seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
- Documentation of various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement;
- Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of the best practices;
- Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing institutional quality;
- Periodical conduct of Academic and Administrative Audits along with their follow up activities;
- Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per the guidelines and parameters of NAAC.

IQAC Initiatives
Strategic Planning and Academic Calendar for Effective Curriculum Delivery
Strategic Planning in accordance with the Vision & Mission of the Institute is prepared. Accordingly resources, day-to-day work, and initiatives across the institute are aligned with the plan. The same are measure, monitored, and corrective actions, if any are suggested timely. Academic Calendar provides details of important dates such as date of reporting, commencement of classes, mid-term and end-term examinations, and holidays.
Feedback & Survey of the Stakeholders
IQAC has developed a system of taking the stakeholders feedback in both online and offline mode. The stakeholders include faculty, students, employers and alumni. The relevant suggestions received from the stakeholders are incorporated to bring about the desirable changes in the working of the Institute for the holistic development of the students.
Academic and Administrative Audit
Every year internal academic and administrative audit is conducted for improving the teaching learning process at the Institute. Academic and Administrative Audit was conducted from an external agency in the year 2022-23.

Water Conservation Measures
Ground water recharging pits have been made to allow rainwater to replenish groundwater, also 60,000 Litres rain water harvesting collection tank has been constructed.
Divyangjan Friendly Campus
Provision forramps, rail, lift, wheel chair, adaptation of toilets forwheelchairusers are available in the campus to cater to the needs of Divyangjan.
FDPs
The IQAC is committed to conduct faculty development programs to enhance quality of teaching learning process. The faculty is also encouraged to attend FDPs conducted by other HEI for their professional growth.
Organizing Workshops / Seminars & Trainings etc.
The IQAC is regularly organizing Seminars and Workshop Training Programs not only for the students but also for the non teaching staff to make them get updated knowledge in their respective fields.
Orientation Programme
To acquaint the newly admitted students or newly appointed faculty or staff to the working of the Institute, orientation programme is conducted. The code of conduct, rules and regulation of the Institute, Who’s Who in the institute are introduced to them with an aim to assist them to settle down well in the new environment.
ERP
Continuous upgradation of ERP modules is undertaken to enhance the efficiency of working of the Institute and to also move gradually to paperless office.
Bridging the Curriculum Gaps
Add on courses, guest lectures, industrial/ field visits are being undertaken regularly to bridge the curriculum gaps and enhance the knowledge and skills of the students to make them industry ready for higher education/ entrepreneurship/ employability.
OBE
The concept of OBE was introduced and FDP was organized to make the faculty familiar about the outcome-based education framework for Pos, PSOs and COs.
The subject faculty is encouraged to write Cos of their subject. The HODSs have come up with the PSOs. The POs have been issued by the Management. The lectures are planned as per the COs and the assignments and tests (class and internal) are also based on COs.
The mapping and attainment of COs, POs and PSOs are carried out accordingly through ERP.
Lab Manuals
The departments were encouraged to prepare lab manuals to ensure a formal methodology for carrying out lab work by the students.
Teaching innovations
The classrooms are ICT enabled. LMS is integrated with the ERP system of the Institute. The entire study material is uploaded by the faculty for the students. Students’ centric methods such as experiential learning, problem solving, participative learning etc are being used for the teaching learning process.
Dolphin Guidance Cell for Preparation of NET/ SLET/ GATE and Competitive Exams
The students of the Institute are benefitting by the coaching being provided by the Cell.
Promotion to Research
Not only the faculty but also the students are being encouraged to get into research. They are being motivated to publish papers by the Research Development Cell.
Upon the recommendation of the IQAC, faculty members engaged in research and publication activities receive incentives for their continued dedication to research. This initiative is aimed to motivate faculty members to conduct and publish high-quality research papers in Scopus, Web of Science (WOS), UGC CARE, and others.
Seed money is also being provided by the Management to promote quality research by the faculty.
Green practices including Green and Energy Audits
The Green, Environment and Energy Audits were conducted by the external auditors. The Institute maintains clean& green campus.
Digitization of library practises
Library is automated for smooth functioning and is also integrated with Institute’s ERP system, E- Campus.
Policies
The various Policies of the Instituted such as Anti Ragging policy, Anti Narcotic Policy, Student Grievance Redressal Policy, Green Campus, Environment & Energy Policy etc have been revised by IQAC.
Community engagement and outreach
Outreach Programs and extension activities are carried out to make the students socially responsible.
Student Support
IQAC has strengthened mentorship system to support students’ academic and personal development.
MOU has been signed with Mpower, an initiative by Aditya Birla Education Trust to promote mental health of the students.
Proactive Training & Placement Cell invites reputed companies for campus placement of the students. The students are also prepared by the Cell to face the interview board. Regular sessions for Personality Development and Soft Skills are being organized for the students by the Cell.
Student Welfare Council, headed by Dean NCC, NSS, YRC, BSG are also available to shape the students’ personality and develop a sense of social responsibility.
Documenting Best Practices
IQAC has been creating benchmarks and also identifying and documenting best practices in academic and administrative areas. Also it has been creating quality circles within departments to continuously improve the working.
Reconstitution of Committees
The various committees of the Institute were reconstituted and their working has also been redefined. The students have been made integral part of these committees.
National & International Commemorative Days
A calendar of National & International Commemorative has been prepared by the IQAC and Departments/ Cells have been assigned the responsibility to celebrate the day with an aim for holistic development of the students.
