Let us take you on a virtual guided tour of all the amenities you will enjoy when you join Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical & Natural Sciences.
You will enjoy a green, calm and scenic campus, spread out over 16880 square meters, surrounded by an evergreen forest. We take great care and pride in maintaining greenery throughout the campus. Fragrant flowers, grassy green lawns, succulents and shrubs, majestic trees, beautiful vine covered roofs – there is omnipresence of Mother Nature throughout the DIBNS campus.
We are also a solar powered organization. A 100kW solar panel system allows us to generate approximately 70% of all energy used by us and even give back to the grid. Recharge wells to restore the depleting underground water levels, along with; Rain Water Harvesting has enabled us to have a water conservation capacity of up to 60 thousand liters. We also implement a policy for a One-Use-Plastic Free Campus through regular awareness programmes, poster placements and monitoring.
Classrooms and labs are hallowed spaces for any student of science. At Dolphin you get to master your field in state-of-art smart classrooms and labs. Our students studying Natural Sciences learn not only in classrooms and labs but also in specialized experiment fields – for practical exposure to natural real-life factors affecting their chosen field.
We have 3 Polyhouses/Greenhouses, 4 Agricultural Fields and 1 Horticulture Orchard – all installed with facilities like drip fertigation and fogging systems to enable higher yields with modern techniques.
We boast one of the best research facilities in the region. The X mark of an academic’s treasure map often turns out to be a library – a sentiment shared by us. The DIBNS library is the quiet and quaint treasure of our institute. Containing 32,600+ books along with, 60+ scientific journals and magazine subscriptions, this library is definitely one of the largest in Dehradun.
Moreover, there is a fully-fledged digital wing of the library with 10 computer booths to browse the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) system and INFLIBNET. Every student and faculty member is given an individual log-in ID for INFLIBNET, a subscription that is taken annually by the college for delivering the best e-library for scientific and technical information in India to our students.
Digital literacy is a huge part of education in modern times. Our two computer labs with 60 installed units each (a total of 120 computer systems) ensure that our students can reach great levels of digital literacy.
Our computer lab enables – collaborative academic work & research amongst students, technical training via workshops and tutorials, accessing online courses, extra edge gain through learning skills in programming languages, graphic designing, operating MS Office and much more.
We are immensely pleased to showcase the latest addition of hobby studios for music, dance, arts & crafts, and photography to the DIBNS infrastructure – a place to bring the creatives of our institute together in a space that will harness the creative energy flowing through all of us.
A cozy place to relax amidst the active campus life encourages productivity and efficiency. We also recognize that women-only public spaces help in fostering fellowship, safety and confidence amongst women. Hence, we built a Girl’s Common Room with conversation inducing seating areas, sofas for lounging, and en-suite washroom – keeping with our aim of establishing gender equity to ultimately achieve gender equality.
People with disabilities are often ignored and hindered in normal day-to-day activities by exclusionary architecture, which is an obvious problem. We address this while building and renovating our infrastructure, by ensuring placement of ramps alongside stairs, investing in an elevator, and installing larger bathroom stalls with railings for support in all washrooms.
“Food is fuel”, i.e., a college’s cafeteria is arguably its most important facility. Our cafeteria is central to the fellowship spirit we foster. It can comfortably accommodate 250 people with group seating arrangements to encourage conversations.
All the delicious food offered is made in-house by experienced chefs, following the highest sanitation and hygiene standards. Industry standards for preparing vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals separately are applied by our capable staff – so you never have to worry about cross-contamination.
