The Department of Biotechnology was established in year 2003. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate program in biotechnology. The department is committed in training students in the field of biotechnology and fostering interdisciplinary approach in them. The department of biotechnology works in integration with allied sciences such as chemistry, zoology, botany, microbiology and biochemistry. The focus of the department is to provide a supportive environment for the holistic development of the students. All the faculty members are qualified and experienced in their respective field.

BEST PRACTICES

  1. Providing Training: Students from other institutions are given opportunity with Faculty Guidance, Research Infrastructure and Consumables to undertake their mini projects. Every year, the department allows some students from different colleges/institutions to undertake project for 1 to 3 months duration.
  2. Mentoring Sessions: counseling and mentoring of the students to provide academic support and planning for the future career path. Providing personalized guidance to all the students empower them and make them more confident and future ready.
  3. Lab visits are organized with an aim to give exposure to our students to get familiarize with laboratory equipments and their applications in research.
